The ACFA Women group COWOM, has been designed as a viable tool for the development and repositioning of all women for the economic stabilization of our communities. 
  
This becomes relevant because prior to the setting up of this Marshal group, women have not fully been empowered to demonstrate their skills as it relates to community development and human management. This act of seclusion has not essentially allowed them to exhibit to the full, the gift of nature imbedded in them, the various governmental authorities therefore should recognize the fact that for reality, women have important role to play in order to promote the economic stability of their immediate environment, locality, communities, states, and the nation in-general. Because of this unquestionable fact, the All Co-Operative Farmers’ Association, Edo State has resolved to empower women as recommended by the Associations’ Constitution Drafting Committee, and approved by the general house.

WOMEN DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM/ACTIVITIES…..PART 1

Women involvement in community development programs is seen as the only means through which they can display their potentials to affect significantly the socio economic and political well-being of their immediate community and environment as well as enhancing their standard of living.

Women involvement in development activities is significant as it helps to accelerate development of their individual community. Their participation in the development of their community can help in making such community self-reliant. Thus enhancing the standard of living of the inhabitant of such community.

Most community development oriented programs have failed to achieve its full objectives and aims. Such situation could be traced to the fact that organizers of such programs have failed to fully integrate and mobilize women to be involved in such programs. Odiara (1991) states that “women are powerful agent of development, development needs women as women needs development, and the time for development is now” in order words women are supposed to be involve now before you start looking for one.

For any scheme or program relating to development to work effectively, women must play a vital role as this has been confirmed that the only means women can display their potentials and capability openly, is if they are involved in the preparation or organization of  such program.

The governments are hereby advised that in order to enhance the rapid development of any community or organizations, women should be made to play important role in the preparation.

Another reason to involving women in community development is a way of stimulating them to think and talk about their problems, define their felt needs, come together as a wing for co-operative action through self-help.

Women integration into development process creates a forum for them to contribute their quota to the enlistment of their immediate communities. Women leaders in communities should always organize themselves to actively take part in community development programs and should be given a fair ground to explore their full potentials. Environment for women to involve themselves should be created by the appropriate authorities

To attain the full objectives in the areas of community development, women ought to be fully involved.

Life is cruel they say, one cannot but imagine what this world is turning into. They use to say that the joy of every mother is to see her daughter get married to a good man and bear for her grand children. But what is happening today is unbelievable.

          Nma is indeed an epitome of beauty; no doubt, people say she took it after her mother who is only eighteen years older than her. Adama was only eighteen when she had Nma for a youth copper doing his primary assignment in her school in Etiti unor in Abia state. After his service he left Etiti unor, promising to return for Adama and her daughter as soon as things get better, but never returned not even a letter for Adama, Adama went through a lot tolling to take care of her daughter. She went into fish market after the death of her mother and indeed things blossom for her, she vow to give her daughter the best of education and care.

          Few years letter after Nma university education, she went for her national assignment and met this gentle and handsome young man Kunle. Kunle is forty two years old and the manager of the firm where Nma was posted to. Nma was twenty five years old; fell in love with Kunle and before long he has proposed to her. She accepted with delight. They fixed a date to visit Nma’s mother, who now is in Enugu running a small but classic bar.

          Good afternoon mummy, greeted Nma and Kunle. Nma you are welcome how was your service? Fine mum. Adama look at the young man and she was filled with desire for him. Mummy Nma told me she looks like you but I think the mother of the princess is a queen, you are beautiful ma. Thank you for the complement, she was deeply satisfied and wished she had him for herself. Adama has never felt like this for any man, but her feeling for kunle was unquenchable. She wonders why?

Few months later Nma became Mrs. Kunle, she invited her mother over to assist her since she was expecting a baby. Few weeks of stay Kunle begin to notice her mother in-law advances towards him, when ever Nma was away to work and Kunle for certain reason did not go to work, she would come out with expensive and wild discussion. Adama was only few years older than Kunle and she was still very beautiful and charming for any man to resist. Not too long she was already sleeping with Kunle. Kunle though not enjoying the relationship but found Adama too hot in bed to resist

Adama became too engross to Kunle that Nna became some worth worried. Adama now desperate to have kunle for keep became jealous of her daughter and as they say jealousy is the root of evil. Adama could not hide her feelings anymore and it seems obvious that before long Nma will catch them on the spot on day. After a very hot time on bed one afternoon Kunle said, Adama you are indeed very sweet I regret my marriage with your daughter I would have preferred you to her, hearing this Adama was filled with desire for Kunle and was indeed desperate to have him to herself. She was filled with animosity for Nma. She went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. She was pushed by desire for Kunle and animosity for Nma that she poisoned her food. After eating that evening they went to bed and before long Nma started complaining of stomach ache. She was rushed to the hospital but she could not make it, she died with her unborn child. The doctor said to Kunle your wife died from food poison. What happened to Adama and Kunle? Find out in the next edition.

All Cooperative Farmers Association: The Cooperative Women Marshal

Cooperative Women Marshal! an arm of All Cooperative Farmers Association has been working tremendously to help uplift the lifestyle of all the women entrepreneurs in the Association. Coopwoma having studied the lifestyles of people around them, mainly the female folks, have come to know that the government cannot handle the issues of unemployment alone, hence they have decided to work in partnership with ACFA to partner with some members of the group and international investors willing to assist the artisan, who will in turn; help the government train any well meaning individuals who will be willing to learn any kind of Trade, mainly in the area of agriculture.
